This place has a lot of history here from the signs, the old photos, menus, right down to the vintage equipment used to make the donuts. The glazed is of course the must try item here. Unfortunately it sells out fast and lines get long. Worth the wait and come early to avoid the long wait. A short wait for all the other varieties of donuts.

Best Donut shop I've ever been to. Been there multiple times including today where I went there around 1p and even then received a warm, fresh glazed donut that melted in my mouth. Go early in the morning if you to get the cinnamon rolls or twists which are super good! Prices are great!

Pretty poor customer service. We were waved in by a woman who seemed to be in a hurry though there were no other people in line. It was our first time at the shop and have heard incredible things about Stand. We were interested in the flavors and has some questions. The woman helping us seemed annoyed by our questions and made the ordering experience very unpleasant. At check out we didn’t realize it was cash only (again first timers) and she was evidently agitated by our mistake. She rolled her eyes and sighed frequently. Donuts were fine. The glazed and buttermilk were good, but with the ordering experience was unpleasant and we will likely not return.

YUM! We went in the afternoon and still had a good selection left. Service was great! Donuts were so delicious. Had a nice fried crunch to them. Perfect size donuts!!

Amazingly soft glazed donuts. Maybe the best glazed donuts in the Bay Area? Much better than any grocery store or chain store donuts I've had recently. I don't think they do anything gimmicky. Just the basics. Watch them made right in the front window. Long lines.

Came for donuts on my birthday and they were so good that the box of a dozen didn't even last a day. We got the hot donuts fresh out of the glazing station and they were literally the best donuts I have ever had in my life. This is THE place to go for hot donuts, delicious donuts, or any donuts.

Stan's doughnuts have been a stable in Santa Clara since 1959. They are small Mom and Pop store that has a classic Americana feel about them. They have stools and a long table to sit at but it's not possible right now. They make fresh glazed doughnuts all the time and the wait is usually less than fifteen minutes but its worth it. The fresh doughnuts come off the fryer warm ready to be eaten. They are the best when they are still warm. They sell a dozen for $12. They do have limit of six glazed doughnuts per customer. They are cash only. They are open seven days a week, 6 AM to 2 PM. These doughnuts are very good so expect a wait when you get there, and most of the time there is always a line waiting for some fresh doughnuts. 🍩🍩🍩🍩

Bite of a glazed donut here is a exciting start of a day. Be prepared to be in a long queue even when you touch down around 6 am. But absolutely worth it. They make dough of relatively small batch to maintain freshness which is impressive. Their coffee has better fit with their donuts than those of Starbucks and Peet's.

I never see anything else order except donuts here.Ambience:Always busy here. You must get in line to place an order.Parking:The parking lot is huge. No need to worry about finding a spot. Was lucky enough to walk in & order 3 glazed & a cinnamon twist.. most Sundays at 1130 they are just about empty. But time it right as the last batch was just about to go thru.Great donuts never a issue..

Pros: Friendly staff, great old fashioned donut shop ambiance, great prices (dozen glazed for just over $10). Donuts are attractive and have a great taste.Cons: Not sure if other people enjoy this, or if my batch just wasn't great, but my warm glazed donut turned back into dough in my mouth. I feel like the batch must have been under-fried. Luckily my buttermilk donut had a good consistency to it. Overall: fun place to go if you don't mind the wait (can sometimes be around 30 minutes until the next batch is ready), and great staff and donuts, just hope that your glazed donut is fried long enough.

There is usually a wait (15 minutes) to get the fresh doughnuts, but well worth it. Some of the best in the area! They are cash only, so make sure you come with some!

Old fashioned donut shop. Nice yeast dough, left to rise in its own time and then fried to perfection. Been coming here for years. The only downside may be that more and more people have discovered the place and the lines are being longer. They are also limiting to 1dozen per person now. Bummer. Portland can keep their voodoo donuts. We have our Stan's.

Our all time favorite donut shop in silicon valley. There is nothing like a hot, cake donut fresh out of the deep fryer, unless of course you sit at the counter and share it with your father. Great donuts, good coffee, amazing memories. This store is legendary and somewhere you definitely want to go. Be prepared to wait on occasion for a fresh, hot glazed donut.... It's so worth the wait!

Friendly people. Fantastic donuts. Plenty of parking. What's not to like? Well, if you don't get there early the line gets pretty long. They will let you pay in advance and wait until your number is called if they don't have what you want ready.It's fun to watch the hand made dough being worked and each donut cut by hand. It's worth a drive, just get there early or there might not be any glazed left.

Literally the best donuts in the entire world. Raised donuts are amazing. Line is out the door. It was fun to see the experts in action making the donuts hot and fresh while I was there. They were very fun and very kind to the crowd of hungry people in line.

Great service and great donuts. I came in Saturday morning around 8 and there was a line of about 20 people deep. That to me was an indication that people really like this place. I actually sat down at the bar area and ordered a warm chocolate bar.... Wow it was delicious. Then I ordered a warm original glazed.. Wow again. Was served by a really nice lady who I believed might of been one of the owners. I definitely would recommend this place is your looking for an awesome donut.

I've been coming here since I was 2 years old, and their donuts are ALWAYS fresh!!! Best donuts I've ever tasted in my entire life!!! Staff are so friendly and down to earth. I love the ambiance! Coffee is delicious. I recommend coming before 11. This establishment deserves way more than 5 stars. SUPERB!!!

The best old-timey donuts in the Bay area! Try the lemon buttermilk and glazed jelly filled 🍩. All the cooking is done in the shop, right in front of you, which is an experience all by itself. The ambiance is dated, the staff is friendly and all smiles.

Best glazed donuts ever! Fresh, airy and hot! I can't believe how tasty these are and they are definitely worth the wait. If you are looking for more than a dozen, place an order a day in advance and they will have them ready for you. Weekends you may have to wait, but definitely worth the wait. I also love their filled donuts, but they don't always have them available.

Local donut shop that makes the best glazed donuts! They make these in small batches of 24 at a time and you can see this in action as you're waiting for your donuts. The line tends to be long, so be prepared to wait at least 15-30 minutes on weekends. Maple bars are also very popular so be sure to come early if you want to snag one of these! They also have counter seating if you'd like to enjoy your donut there with a cup of coffee, but they charge a little more for this vs buying donuts to go.

Whenever I wanna eat the best doughnuts I would go only to Stans. These handmade irregular size beauties are my favorite. Do try when its hot from the oil, glazed with sugar.. it's a small bunch of heaven on Earth. Me and bunch of my friends went there and spent around an hour talking about life and eating these amazing doughnuts 😍

I live and die by Randy's Donuts in LA, but since moving to the Bay I've been on the hunt for something that would fill that void. It's been 7 months since I've had Randy's and I've got to say that these glazed donuts are making me forget about what I've been craving. I highly recommend their glazed and chocolate raised. After a long ride on the bike these hit the spot like few other things can.

One of the best donuts I’ve ever had! The donuts are super light and fluffy - this place beats out all the famous donut shops in the country in my opinion. The place is cash only so bring cash and come early because they tend to run out before noon

I have visited many places in the south bay area that are donut centric but this place is awesome! It's a small shop with a mom and pop feel that welcomes new customers with open arms and dazzles them with the variety of flavors it offers. I ordered a fresh box of glaze which I heard from a friend are a delight. True to their word, they were. One thing to consider is that this is a cash only place. So if you intend to pay with card or nfc you'll be out of luck.5/5!

A Bay Area classic, Stan's is a favorite for visitors and locals alike and has been for decades. Expect a line, especially if you come during peak hours on the weekend. Also, remember that once certain varieties sell out, they're just gone for the day so earlier is better as a general rule. Many people praise their fresh glazed as the bees knees though I think they're light on flavor (need a pinch of salt!). I go for the buttermilk variety (they rotate flavors daily). Pro tip: call ahead if you want to plane a bigger order, they will do phone orders ahead of time.

I am not exaggerating when I say these are the best donuts in Santa Clara county. Here is my take: if you have to cover your donut with 8 kinds of cereal and a crazy hat to make it "good" you aren't doing it right. The hot glazed donut will ruin other donut shops forever. Be careful. Once you eat these your local donut shop will be... Lacking. Also the cinnamon roll is amazing. It sounds weird but the crispy edges are where it's at.

Under COVID-19 rules there was a line outside. About 8 people. Only 3 allowed inside art 1 time. Despite all the restrictions the line moved very quickly. I had forgotten they are a cash only business, fortunately they have an ATM in the back. The donuts are the bomb. They always have been and today's visit did not disappoint. The original glazed are my favorite.

Super popular place and it's for good reason. The donuts are delicious! My favorite is the original glazed, but I've tried their other options and can't complain. Bring cash and be prepared for a slight wait if you don't get here super early. However, if you do get there super early, they may not have everything you might want. You can always phone in an order in advance for pick up too.

The original glaze is among the best donuts I have ever tasted, and I’ve been around the block many times in that department. They pump them out fresh right in front of you. Again, get the original glaze - warm, pillowy, soft, sweet, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Worth taking a ride just to get there from San Jose!
